About Us
Well-Aware, PLLC is a provider of outpatient psychotherapy, providing evidence based, culturally responsive, and holistically framed care. While we must all navigate the many challenges and changes of life, it is nearly impossible to do so alone. Whether personal or professional, everyone can use a helping hand to understand and overcome the obstacles in our path. At Well-Aware, we are dedicated to supporting you in life’s journey with a model of treatment that centers honesty, authenticity, and each person’s individual needs. By doing so, we seek to create therapeutic spaces that encourage genuine growth and learning for all.

Well-Aware is owned and operated by Adia Smith, LCSW. Adia is an ethically-grounded and culturally-versatile clinician with more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health and well-being. Adia specializes in an approach to wellness that pairs holistic perspectives with practical methods to provide effective care.
Why Well-Aware?
Because we believe that wellness—whether psychological, emotional, or physical—is rooted in awareness. Awareness of our emotions, our thinking, our choices, the spaces we occupy, and the identities and roles we hold. By increasing our awareness of the things that impact us, and how we influence all that is within and around us, we set the stage for true wellness.
Services Offered
As a psychotherapeutic practice, Well-Aware provides three core services: diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and telemental health.

Diagnostic Assessment
A behavioral health diagnostic assessment is a clinical evaluation conducted by a licensed mental health professional to understand your unique circumstances, history, and presenting concerns in order to best identify your mental health status and determine treatment recommendations. This is typically done via an in-depth interview with the clinician, the individual seeking treatment, and any other necessary party, like a parent for minors.

Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a treatment approach used to address emotional and mental health issues through communication and interaction with a trained, licensed professional. It can help to alleviate feelings of distress, identify solutions to problems, and modify behaviors and thought patterns through a variety of therapeutic techniques and strategies. Therapy can be effective for individuals, couples, families, and groups. In-person therapy may be provided in a mutually agreed upon space in the community.

Telemental Health Therapy
Telemental health, also known as "teletherapy", is a way of delivering high-quality mental health treatment remotely using telecommunications or video conferencing platforms (i.e., Google Meet). Telemental health can provide greater flexibility for participants, allowing them to accommodate geographic or scheduling barriers that may complicate in-person meetings.
